Many of the projects I have worked on have involved pre-construction enabling works and continued through to client handover. I have often set up the project site offices and started and maintained the company’s Management Systems, ensuring all the paperwork is in place to comply with the requirements of the HSE, CDM and Company operational procedures.

My Role as Site / Senior Site Manager has included organizing weekly on site Progress Review Meetings with Sub-Contractors Management, weekly Site Co-ordination Planning meetings with the relevant Sub-Contractors Site Managers and Supervisors, weekly Site Safety Meetings. I have also been responsible for attending with the Commercial Team, Tender Clarification meetings with Sub-Contractors prior to them starting on site to ensure there is a full understanding between the parties involved, what is required by the Main Contractor of the Sub-Contractors. I have from time to time attended Client Meetings in the absence of the Project Manager and acted as his Deputy and I have assisted the PM prepare the monthly reports for the Project Review Meetings. I have therefore had exposure to dealing with Clients face to face and maintained the close relationship with them.

I have played the lead role and managed the Production Team and controlled all the Site Labor, Plant and Material purchases for the projects to ensure consistent delivery of the projects in terms of HS&E, quality and commercial performance and ensuring the projects are delivered on time and to budget. I have ensured the Project Teams have complied with the company’s HS&E standards to maintain high levels of safety on site together with maintaining good standards of morale and commitment from the workforce.

I have been the Sub-Contractors first point of call for managing any technical queries and I have liaised with the Project Architects and Design Managers to resolve any potential issues in a timely manner. I have actively been involved in driving the sub-contractors on to complete the job on time whilst maintaining the necessary standards demanded by the client within the agreed time frames. I have produced Short Term Programs and reviewed these at weekly sub-contractors progress review meetings to ensure overall progress is being achieved against the master program. Where there have been issues raised that could or have affected progress I have resolved them.

As part of my day to day activities I have always been involved in the control of quality on site, having a keen eye for conformance to detail in the build. Where quality issues have occurred I have issued NCR’s to the sub-contractors involved at an early stage to ensure the project is completed and handed over “Snag Free”.

Some of the Projects I have been involved with were Steel Framed and some were RC Frame construction. All the projects involved the use of reinforced concrete for the foundations and floor slabs. Many of the contracts I have worked on have involved both CFA, Driven and Sheet Piling works for the foundations. I have also managed the installation of large pre-cast concrete sections for stadium seating and distribution warehouse loading docks. I have also been involved in the management of demolition contractors when there have been existing buildings on site that have had to be removed to make way for the new developments. Many of the contracts I have worked on have included refurbishment works along with new build structures and surrounding external works. Often the larger schemes have required the installation of HV/LV transformers sometimes within the main building and sometimes within a standalone new build sub-station or energy centre.

I have seen most of the projects through to completion and handover including managing all the various finishing trades inc. joinery, tiling, decorating, suspended ceilings, commercial kitchen installations, bathroom and changing rooms, back of house commercial walk in fridge / freezers etc and all works finished to a good standard.

I am a hard working individual, I understand the importance of meeting the deadline of a project and being able to hand over to the client on time without snags and to the quality required within budget constraints. This often involves working long hours and at weekends to which I am no stranger. I am confident therefore that I can be a competent Site Manager for your project. I have had experience managing contracts in a Live Environment, ensuring there has been no disruption to the clients and their customer’s day to day activities. I am also available to work in any part of the UK or the Middle East. My past employment has required me to obtain accommodation away from home in the various areas that I have been asked to work, and I am quite happy to continue this arrangement should I be asked to work away from home.

Please find attached my CV for your consideration, I would be most grateful if after reading my CV you would consider me for any vacancies you might have in any of the sectors you are currently engaged in, or any future projects you may be considering.

Overseas experience in the Middle East

Chemical Stimulation Vessel Supervisor / Halliburton

1986 - 1991

I worked in the Middle East for an American Oilfield Service Contractor, Halliburton. I was employed by them for 5 years based at Ajman in the UAE and working offshore supplying chemical stimulation services to various oilfields in the Arabian Gulf. As part of our work we regularly visited various places around the Gulf, namely Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi, Kuwait. The work we did was to travel to offshore locations and connect high pressure hoses to oil rigs or platforms and pump acid down the wells at very high pressures. This had the effect of increasing the wells production. I was eventually made redundant and returned home and took a management course in construction.
