Persons who are applying for this post should have educated at higher secondary school level Work experience of at least 2 years in the role of a Pastry Chef de Partie / similar is required. Should possess excellent communication skills in English. Having skills in any international language like French or Arabic will be beneficial. Need the ability to control the section of responsibility.
Job Description:
> Organize shifts in the section with regard to mise en place pastry production and its service
> Assign tasks to Pastry Commis Chefs and check that they carry tasks out in the correct manner.
> Write daily dry store,food requisitions and kitchen transfers on the appropriate forms for the approval of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
> Checking on a daily basis food preparation regarding quantity and quality as laid down in the recipe index.
> Responsible for completing the daily checklist regarding mise en place and food storage list
> Report any problems regarding failure of machinery and small equipment to the Sous Chef
> Follow up and make sure that necessary work has been carried out
> Keep the pastry section clean and tidy.
> Assist the Sous Chef in composing new recipes.
> Ensure the smooth running of the section.
> See that all areas maintain the company food handling standards
> Cook any food on a daily basis according to business requirements.
