1. Receiving admissions in the hospital and discharging of patients from the hospital per doctor’s order.
2. Receive endorsement from outgoing staff nurse, patient’s articles and equipments.
3. Administering oral medication, rectal and vaginal suppositories, intramuscular, intradermal, subcutaneous and intravenous injections per doctor’s order.
4. Giving of bedside care and direct nursing care to bedridden and helpless patients.
5. Assisting the physician in performing lumbar puncture and bone marrow aspirations.
6. Administering oxygen therapy by catheter and cannula.
7. Giving of steam inhalation and inhalation by nebulizer.
8. Inserting of parenteral intravenous fluids as per doctor’s order.
9. Relevant and concise charting of treatment done to patient’s, physical and mental conditions, medications and diets given and incidents which might have some bearing of the patient’s condition which includes monitoring of the neurovital signs: such as blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate, cardiac rate and temperature.
10. Collecting, proper labeling and sending for laboratory specimens on time to the laboratory.
11. Proper instructions of patients for laboratory examination and assisting the physician in blood extraction.
12. Participates in the development of standard care for patients.
13. Participates and give health teachings and practices to the patients and families designed to improve their health status.
14. Preparing the patient and giving of pre-operative medications per doctor’s order to patients scheduled for operation.
15. Receiving medications to patients per doctor’s order.
