Job Purpose:
Responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive material supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services. Work is of a difficult nature involving considerable amount of initiative and a high level of independent judgement. Instructs and assigns work to a small group of employees, by training, and close supervision to ensure that the policies and procedures are being followed.
-Analyzes purchase requisitions to determine appropriate source.
-Negotiates prices and terms and suppliers.
-Develops and maintains reliable suppliers, including new supplier sources.
-Responds to changing market price trends and availability of materials and services.
-Negotiates settlements on rejected or defective materials.
-Ensures timely delivery of materials and services purchased followed by quality.
-Adheres unit purchasing and accounting policies and procedures.
-Explores ways and means to cut down the cost.
-Implementation of policies and procedures and ensuring that they are being followed.
-Preparation of presentation / statistical data / recommendations / suggestions to improve the performance and cost reduction.
-Providing details to Management on the major projects on progress and its updates.
-University degree in Business or any allied fields.
-Minimum of 3 years work experience in purchasing or related fields.
-With working knowledge of the issues / processes associated with purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to manufacturing industry, battery parts or related items is a plus.
-Analytical and with an above average verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic (preferred).
-Computer literate and proficient in word processing and spreadsheet compilation, exposure to ERP purchasing system is an advantage.
University degree in Business or any allied fields.
