A reputed telecom company in riyadh requires Technical Services Engineer / Telecom Engineer
Description
• Provide technical level one and two support on Tekelec SMS routing and filtering platform.
• Escalate unresolved issues to Tekelec level 3, design and engineering support groups.
• Complete assignments as defined in Statement Of Works (SOW), and Method Of Procedure (MOP) documents and under TL9000 standards.
• A Technical Support Engineer is the focal point and direct interface to the Customer providing effective communications, technical and product expertise, and escalation relative to expeditious resolution of customer’s technical and service issues.
• A Technical Services Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for Tekelec products. Technical support encompasses product troubleshooting for hardware, firmware and software and providing resolution to these issues in a timely manner.
Required Skills and Attributes
• Self-motivated as most assignments require working without supervision
• Flexible and willing to complete varied tasks
• Goal-focused and responsible for “getting the job done”
• Self-sufficient
• Ability to self-train on new features and system functions is necessary.
• Good written communication skills are required.
• Good oral communication skills as a large proportion of time will be spent working with customers and remote technical assistance design and engineering groups.
• Protocol-level knowledge of SMS, Mobile Number Portability and other advanced GSM functions.
• UNIX / Linux knowledge – A certification would be a plus (Red Hat or Sun)
• Proven strong IP networking experience - A certification would be a plus (CCNA).
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems using protocol-level tools to investigate at the SS7, SIGTRAN or IP level and Unix system.
• Ability to assume control over emergency situations and direct the customer toward a workable solution.
