Qatar Foundation is an established organization, with a variety of Centres, programs and plans for expansion, our process began with designing/reworking the mission statement of the Foundation and the Centres and then looking at the broader issues of vision.
Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development is a private, chartered, non-profit organization headquartered in Doha, Qatar. The Foundation hosts branch campuses of Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts, Weill Cornell Medical College, Texas A & M University, Carnegie Mellon University and Georgetown University. It is also home to Qatar Academy, the Learning Center, the Academic Bridge Program, the Rand-Qatar Policy Institute, Al-Shaqab Stud and Riding Academy, Fitch Qatar and Qatar Science and Technology Park. Qatar Foundation’s other projects include the Qatar Diabetes Association and the Social Development Center.
Responsibilities
1. Manage and conduct audit assurance and/ or consulting projects as an auditor in charge in accordance with the International Standards for the Professional Practices of Internal Auditing ("the Standards") of the Institute of Internal Auditors within time budgets and deadlines established, evaluating the adequacy of controls, recommending innovative and practical solutions to remediate unsatisfactory conditions, improve operations and reduce costs.
2. Perform or participates in complex functional audit processes that consists of the audit assessment of risk and exposure associated with operational activities in the areas of audit responsibility; the planning, design, performance, documentation, supervision and review of audit work; the reporting of the results of audit work; and the monitoring and verification of auditee management’s resolution of audit findings.
3. Plan and conducts effective financial and related operational reviews with limited supervision. Demonstrate the ability to identify internal control risks, business risks, and operational cost reduction opportunities.
4. Plan and execute audits, identify and discuss issues with management, reach appropriate recommendations and consolidate those recommendations into well written and concise audit reports;
Requirements
4 years in Accounting/Finance degree from accredited university;
Minimum of 4+ years financial/operational related audit work experience with solid organization big 4 audit firm and/or internal audit department highly desirable;
A minimum of four years of progressively responsible internal auditing experience;
Knowledge of the business objectives and processes of various and complex environments such as finance and budget, information technology, procurement and contracts, human resources, capital project, operations, facility maintenance, etc.
Ability to think “outside the box” and apply creative and constructive thinking to proposed audit recommendations for improvements to internal processes controls, procedures, and policies;
Good knowledge of organizations’ structures, enterprise risk management and internal controls;
Ability to work alone and to execute projects with minimum supervision and to complete work within required deadlines
