Job Responsibilities:
To perform Inspection activities and its reporting as per given scope of work. Perform quality activities on capital projects covering mechanical Installations and/or welding.
The incumbent will:
Monitor and/or perform activities at all stages of projects.
Ensure contractor’s work is incompliance using good knowledge of Saudi Aramco engineering requirements, standards, procedures and specifications of the project contract.
Provide training to others as and when required.
Duties may require physical exertion working outdoors confined high elevations, and remote work location.
Principal Duties:
Perform “Hold” “Witness “and “Surveillance” Inspections and tests at manufacturing facilities or construction sites to ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco requirements and project specifications
Inspect material and equipment as applicable to ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco for proper handling storage and protection at Saudi Aramco facilities and/or construction sites
Monitor contractor’s quality systems, records and quality personnel for compliance with requirements
Review and evaluate contractor’s quality document submittals
Witness on-site and off-site material and installations tests for compliance with Saudi Aramco standards
Record legibly and accurately all controversial and non-complying construction practices, materials and equipment and report to supervisor detailed potential problems for early resolution
Write weekly inspection reports and initiate non-conformance reports (NCRs), worksheets (WSs) and Equipment deficiency reports (EDRs) as needed
Assist in the training of other inspection
Assist in performing Quality Audits on certain projects
Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by the supervisor.
Qualification & Experience:
BS degree in Engineering plus 8 years mechanical or welding engineering experience in the construction of petrochemical industry or hydrocarbon facilities OR
Two (2) years industrial/technical college diploma plus 12 years quality management experience in the construction of petrochemical or hydrocarbon facilities OR
Secondary high school (science major) plus eighteen (18) years quality management experience in the construction of petrochemical or hydrocarbon facilities.
Quality management work experience in welding & mechanical construction for petrochemical or hydrocarbon facilities
Confirmed working knowledge of applicable industry standards in welding, piping, and equipment installation such as ASME IX, ASME VIII, ASME/ANSI B31, .3.31.4/31.8, API-686, API RP2A.API-1104 AWS D1.1
With either welding or mechanical qualifications as follows:
Welding: shall be certified as welding inspector by AWS or CSWIP-Wl
Mechanical: shall be certified plant inspector level II by CSWIP or Knowledge of heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) installation and related standards such as ASHRAE, UMC, SMACNA & NFPA.
Excellent knowledge of applicable international standards.
Confirmed full working knowledge of quality system standards and methods (ISO 9001)
Good working knowledge of standard PC workstation usage and basic MS office software applications
Fluent command of the English language (spoken and written)
Good health and in excellent physical condition
