Job description:

The Environmental Policy Advisor Provides support to the sector head with his/her international and specialized expertise in the environment policy domain. Assist in formulation of external and internal multi-disciplinary, multi-sectoral working group(s) to follow up on the implementation and development of the Abu Dhabi Environmental Policy and EAD Policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides support to the sector head with his/her international and specialized expertise in the environment policy domain to deliver the following:
Formulates an external and internal multi-disciplinary, multi-sectoral working group(s) to follow up on the implementation and development of the Abu Dhabi Environmental Policy and EAD Policies
Analyses, reviews and evaluates existing situation through the collection and scrutiny of all published and drafted standards; procedures and guidelines within biodiversity sector, strategy development function and environmental services
Ensures integration of policies and plans within EAD sectors and functions
Production of gap analysis report for the way forward and a detailed scope of work and tender documents to assign an international consultancy expert house to bridge the gap
Supervises and facilitate the Committee’s work and tendering process
Ensures proper implementation of the project, through management of the appointed expert house
Reports periodically to all stakeholders including EAD management and Executive Council  

QUALIFICATIONS:

M.Sc. in Environment Science, Environment Policy, or similar degree
20 years experience in related field with minimum of 10 years environmental policy related experience in a regulatory agency or an equivalent private sector position including 5 years at advisory capacity
Experience in analyzing environmental policy; environment management and scientific and research skills
Experience in multi million AED budgets
