Position GIS Programmer - Geographical Information System

Job Description For one of our largest clients, Huntress International, global leader in the recruitment market is urgently looking for UAE NATIONAL – GIS PROGRAMMER to be based in U.A.E
Job Purpose:
• Provides critical, advanced programming with HTML, .Net, Java, and Java Scripting experience.
• Applicant must have a solid understanding of geospatial standards and related IT standards implementation and web services/service-oriented architecture (SOA) standards including extensible markup language (XML) and related technologies/standards.
Job purposes are summarized:
• Reviews, analyzes, and codes GIS software applications using a variety of programming tools and languages including testing and debugging
• Modifies, maintains and supports existing current applications.
• Researches, evaluates, makes recommendations, and installs tools and techniques used to support GIS applications, software, and interfaces.
• Analyze, design, programming and customizing GIS software products and/or GIS applications
• Develop and design from document requirements or user inputs and implement solutions
• Create, perform and support GIS system and acceptance testing as required
• Troubleshooting problems that occur in the GIS applications.
Key Accountabilities:
• Conduct reviewing, analyzing, designing, programming and customizing using relevant
technology and tools.
• Develop and implement GIS applications to the required GIS standards.
• Ensure developed GIS applications /Services are meeting required quality standards.
• Provide feedback and technical support to the CADGIS users' needs.
• Identify issues with CADGIS Software / services and resolved issues.
• Complete reports on the outcomes of random and scheduled tasks.
• Complete all required documentation according to quality systems, policies, standards, operational processes and work instructions.
• Establish and maintain productive work partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders and clients.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to internal and external clients/stakeholders in the area of developing GIS services.
• Contribute to the research and testing of new programming technologies
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Thorough knowledge of GIS concepts including application, development, and use.
• In-depth knowledge of systems development practices.
• Demonstrated ability and extensive working knowledge of GIS and GIS techniques.
• Demonstrated ability in a wide range of software applications, programming languages and Web technologies associated with GIS (including, but not limited to: .Net, Java, Java Scripting, PHP, SQL, HTML, XML, AJAX, ASP, IIS, Apache and Tomcat).
• Training and/or experience in ArcObjects development
• Working knowledge of relational databases and concepts such as Oracle Spatial and MS-SQL.
• Strong logic, analysis and problem solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English & Arabic, both orally and in writing
• This position requires degree in Computer Science and an advanced degree or study in Geographical information systems, OR Post degree in Geography, formalized IT training, and at least 1 year of formal application development in the Geographic Information Industry, OR A suitable combination of formal Geography, GIS, and IT education with development experience (at least 2 years of development and programming experience)
