PURPOSE STATEMENT: To enforce security policy and standards and best practices and participate in selection and implementation of appropriate security controls and security procedures, related mainly to AIX and UNIX systems.
 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: (mainly related to AIX and UNIX security)

·Participate in selection and implementation of appropriate security controls and security procedures.

·Understand system vulnerabilities and be able to respond quickly to security problems

·ability to do daily administration for system controls 

·Understand different data environments and the impact of granting the access to them.

· Administer access rights according to approved policy with the system/application owner.

· Guide and assure that policies are followed.

· Plan, implement and test the information security controls

· Recommend opportunities for improvement.

· Request for change (process and products)

·Design and participate in user training programs to ensure user awareness of operational policies and procedures, equipment and system changes.

·Participate in group activities to maintain an optimal group performance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE

·3 years or more experience as a security specialist.

· BSc in computer science, computer engineering or information systems.

·Thorough knowledge and experience in managing/administering AIX and UNIX systems security.
