Our client, a global FMCG multinational company, currently seeks a field manager to join their expanding regional team.
This is a phenomenal opportunity to join one of the most prestigious FMCG multinationals, in a regional management role.
Based in Erbil, Iraq, you will report to the Area Manager for Levant. This is a management role where you will propose short and medium term local business objectives and priorities in terms of profitability, volumes and market share for the assigned market, organize and supervise the realization of these objectives by effective sales, distribution and marketing management in order to strengthen your position in the local market. The distributor in Iraq was appointed 18 months ago and the relationship is still in its infancy stage. There are a number of challenges in terms of improving the capability of the distributor, recruiting more people, improving efficiencies, building the route to market plan. Your primary objective from all of these activities will be to build and improve distribution and visibility. They are currently at 60% coverage across Iraq, and your aim would be to get to 100% within 12 months through a total sales plan across the region. You will manage a team of merchandisers and key account executives and have extensive support from the regional head office in Dubai. You will also have a small role to play in the execution of marketing communication programmes, and may need to work with communication agencies in Iraq to build a BTL communication plan.
As the ideal candidate, there are a few must haves. You must be a fully fluent Arabic speaker with experience in the Middle East. You will be male, in your late twenties to early thirties with around 6-8 years of FMCG sales experience. Obviously those who have experience of working in Iraq or Iraqi nationals will have a strong advantage, but any Arab national with GCC experience is invited to apply. Those with tobacco experience will have a strong advantage although this is not a must. You will have distributor management experience and be a mature, diplomatic individual who can work autonomously to deliver outstanding results. You will be someone who can win the respect of a large team, has excellent management capability as well as a strong understanding of the FMCG business from a shelf enhancement perspective to drive incremental volume.
