Cost Controller
Description:
1. JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for controlling the departmental operational cost compared with the approved organization budget.
2. NATURE & SCOPE
The jobholder keeps the Chief, Financial Officer informed of ongoing activities, developments and potential problems on a regular but informal basis.
The job holder works within the Company policies, standard operating procedures and objectives as approved by Executive Management. The incumbent is required to design and implement agreed strategy, systems, controls and programs that support the achievement of these objectives.
3. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
4.1 Participates in Meetings with departments heads in relevant station to discuss cost issues.
4.4 Reviews the departments actual costs and expenses compared to approved budget and last year results.
4.4 Prepares cost analysis and comparison reports and suggest areas of improvements.
4. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE (COMPETENCIES REQUIRED)
- BSc Degree in Accounting / Mgt. from a recognised University / College.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Must have excellent command in MS. Excel (able to make formulas, graphs, analysis, complicated equations, etc.)
- Competencies required are excellent organizational skills, analytical skills, interpersonal skills.
- Should have excellent communication skills (very diplomatic with dept. heads to ensure smooth handling of information and changes required in operational details)
- Knowledge in accounting principles is a plus.
5. POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION
Reports to Chief, Financial Officer.
