Job Description:

The role of the Senior Contracts Engineer is critical to the Plants and Main Office Operations in coordinating and planning users requests to develop contracts for jobs of special nature such as consultancy services and other various types such as mechanical, electrical, instrument, civil, catering, office services, etc from pre – qualification stage through tendering, evaluation to conclusion of contracts. This position is also responsible for the review and coordination of Change Orders and resolving claims to achieve contracting process results in a fair and reasonable price for a high quality on time deliverable. This requires high technical knowledge and diversified capabilities in contract management, cost effectiveness legal/ economical aspects, and negotiation skills. It also requires high coordination and communication with end users, Legal Department, HSE, local and international contractors and consultants and with other Oil and Gas companies in the UAE and the Gulf. • To supervise the subordinates to ensure that the Department procedures, processes and the HSE management system are adhered to and implemented. • To direct and assist the Contracts Engineers in developing contracts, consultancy, Change Orders and Claims • To prepare respective manpower requirements and movement, Budget and Five Year business plan in line with the company’s directives. • To review and ensure the implementation of the staff training needs and respective plan with emphasis on the professional development of UAE nationals in line with the career plan. • To prepare the Annual Acquisition Plan to cover user’s requirements for contracts related to all types of works, consultancy, manpower and services, including renewals of term agreements. To ensure the implementation of the Plan and to report on respective progress • To review and analyze the user contract request scope of work, , bill of quantities, specification and respective drawings to ensure the availability of complete and adequate information.

Profile:  

At least 10 years experience in Contracts Management • Engineering qualification preferably with a Membership from a professional body • Mechanical / Metallurgy Engineer.

Education: Basic - Bachelor of Technology/Engineering ( Mechanical , Metallurgy )
