JOB REQUIREMENTS:
> Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
> Applicants should have experience in a senior role (i.e. 2nd/3rd level support) within the IT industry.
> Need working knowledge of network routers/switches, preferably Cisco.
> Should be familiar with backup and disaster recovery technologies, preferably Veritas.
> Experience must reflect knowledge gained within a medium to large organization, running a minimum of 30- 40 servers and 300 – 400 desktop workstations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
> Participate in On-Call rota.
> Carry out shift work as per rota.
> Run Sunrise Management Reports.
> Participate in rota covering daily backups.
> Stand-in for the line manager when requested.
> Provide assistance to other members of the IT Team.
> Monitor and maintain servers and server applications.
> Carry out any other duty assigned by the line manager.
> Ensure there is adequate cover for the Helpdeskand provide 1st line cover when necessary.
> Update the call logging system, user and the senior Helpdesk staff with the progress of the fault/query.
> Provide 2nd and 3rd line support to users, until a resolution is found and escalate accordingly if necessary.
> Monitor and maintain integrity of the network. Problem solve with assistance from the Network Contractor as required.
> Assist with the improvement of departmental policies and procedures. Review and update the relevant documents as required.
