Job Description
Assist in the operation and maintenance of Waste Water treatment facilities including interim package treatment plants, centralized treatment plant for industrial wastewater, in line with operational guidelines and parameters. Monitor the plant process parameters and assist remediation measures in order to restore deviations/abnormal conditions. Technical Improvement: Prepare technical evaluations and develop proposals with recommendations in order to help identification of opportunities for improving plant efficiency and implement approved plans as appropriate in order to support the continual technical improvement of the Industrial Waste Water plant and processes. Maintenance Plans: Prepare maintenance plans (turnaround, preventive and predictive maintenance) for own area in order to ensure that plant and equipment maintenance needs are met and production processes availability optimised. Process oriented operation. Involves biological, chemical and physical processes. Necessity to maintain normal system conditions at all times since effects of abnormal conditions require substantial time for remediation Requires high levels of alertness since control over quality of influents is exercised by Engineering ( laboratory is with Engineering) Needs to identify infrastructure expansion requirements in order to meet an expanding customer community Actual work is performed down the line by third party staff, management of third party staff is challenging due to diversity of levels of skills, experience and commitment Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor�s Degree in Engineering ( Civil/Chemical or Environmental Engineering) Minimum Experience: Minimum 10 years experience. 3-5 years experience in operation and maintenance of waste water treatment plants operating � activated sludge process� for industrial waste water Job-Specific Skills: Good knowledge of design principles of equipment and facilities, experience with biological treatment plants Knowledge of operational characteristics, services and activities of a comprehensive waste water treatment and water reclamation program Technical versatility is required since processes involve application of all branches of science physics, chemistry and biology Good knowledge of NSF procedures and EPA, WHO & MEPA waste water guidelines in order to control operations in compliance with the guidelines.
