Mechanical Technician / Maintenance Mechanic - Smelter(Ref: EMO/S/2009) 

The Post 

Requires experience in some or all of the following smelter plant equipment: 

• Multi-purpose electric overhead traveling cranes • Bulk material conveying and handling systems. Smelting and treatment furnaces 

• Large mechanical motol' drives, controllers & mixer. 

• Fully automated casting equipment & industrial saws. 
The Person 

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, including computer-related subjects or an equivalent qualification. 

• 5 years' experience In a similar position. 

• Should have a good general industrial Mechanical Maintenance background, including mechanical equipment used in heavy industrial plant i.e., Mechanical Conveying Systems, fully automated hydraulic and pneumatic systems, Pumps, gear boxes & knowledge of lifting tackles. 

• Must have the ability to read schematic drawings and excellent knowledge of fault finding and repair of the equipment listed above. Experience in Hydraulics/Pneumatic is essential. 
 

General 

• The desired age group is 25-35 years 

• Applicants should be able to speak, read and write English to a good standard and should have excellent interpersonal skills and assertive personality traits. 

• Computer literacy is essential. 

• An aptitude for team work [including shift) work is also essential.
