PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Implement and monitor Company Health and Safety procedures
• Job specific risk assessment and support to preparation of method statements
• Provide training, support and advice to all employees on matters relating to Health and Safety
• Health, Safety and Environmental Inspections of workplaces
• Accident/Incident investigation, analysis and reporting
• Sub contractor control, Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental aspects
• Production of an annual audit schedule
• Audit of Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Systems
BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE, ATTRIBUTES
Essential
The appointee will have a minimum of 3 year’s experience in a Health and Safety related role and a minimum of 1 year as a Safety Advisor. Will also be systematic, pragmatic, self-motivated; demonstrate an ability to be an objective investigator and report with clarity and accuracy. Will possess strong planning and organisational ability with tactful and effective communication skills.
Skills
Hold a recognised qualification in Health and Safety supervision;
Minimum 1 year, preferably 2 years, of work experience as a Health and Safety Advisor;
Strong audit-related expertise and experience, including understanding of compliance requirements, monitoring guidelines, and standards e.g. ISO 9001:2000;
Thorough understanding of the local health and safety regulations;
Ability to write technical and audit reports, routine business correspondence and prepare method statements as required;
