The Distribution Specialist is responsible for the utilization of Automated Information Systems (AIS) that are used throughout Defense Transportation System, including geographic information systems (GIS), to account, track, and interface movement data with load planning programs and joint AIS to support the Force Deployment Planning and Execution (FDPE) process and In Transit Visibility (ITV). 
 
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES: 
 
Functional Duties, Responsibilities and Goals 
 
1. Conduct physical inspections of container assets, components and associated equipment. 
2. Conduct site visits of container locations across a region. 
3. Promulgate various forms and documents that must be completed upon all container movements, use, issue, turn-ins, ect. 
4. Coordinate with agencies for inspections, recertification, certifications, tracking etc. 
 
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: 
Personal computer, printer, FAX machine, copy machine and other general office equipment
 
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: 
Include the ability to lift/push and/or pull up to and including 50 lbs.; continuous sitting, walking or standing. 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. 
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent years’ experience.
 
Experience: 
Bache lor’s degree in related field or equivalent years’ experience. 
Minimum of 3 years related experience in cargo/port facilities. 
 
Skills: 
 
1. General knowledge of government and commercial cargo movement processes and systems. 
2. Possess superior functional knowledge of the Marine Corps. 
3. Administering of ACAMS system requirements for managing all ISO Container Assets, which includes considerable documentation maintenance, adherence, training currency, scanning-file-creation, records management, system upload an inventory sourcing time, adjudication of discrepancies, etc. 
4. Completely understand and be capable of articulating Marine Corps Processes, Functions, Organizational make-up, and mission/function to the unit level, to include Logistics Operations with an emphasis on planning and distribution. 
5. Be highly competent in the use of personal computers, varied research methodologies, computer software.
