Job Title: General Manager

Our client, a Middle East contractor with an international presence requires an experience Manager to setup a new M&E (mechanical & electrical) business unit.

You must have previous experience working in the Middle East with major contractors at General Manager Level. You must have gained previous design experience with a strong technical project background.
Key Responsibilities

• Leads the feasibility, development and implementation of new lines of business that are complementary to the company’s core competencies.
• Responsible for overall profitability of operations and accountable for strategic utilization and deployment of available resources to achieve organisational objectives.
• Drives the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance with the executive team.
• Maintains awareness and knowledge of contemporary operational methods and ideas and provides suitable interpretations to directors, managers and staff within the organisation.
• Monitors, measures and reports on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales.
• Ensures activities meet and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, hygiene, health, safety and environment, legal stipulations and general duty of care.
• Is actively involved in the selection and recruitment of qualified personnel
• Fosters a learning culture and ensures that all personnel feel valued and rewarded
• Establishes performance guidelines, responsibilities and goals for his direct reports and conducts regular appraisals
