Mdecins Sans Frontires (MSF) is an international independent humanitarian medical organisation. The objectives of MSF in the
UAE is, on one hand, to raise awareness about the plight of populations living in crisis zones and create dialogue forums to
interact with local communities and on the other hand, to seek private resources to support MSF medical activities worldwide.
The Marketing Officer is in charge of assisting the Fundraising Director in implementing the volume fundraising strategy of
MSF UAE, especially developing new donor acquisition, increasing return on investment and donor retention. Responsibilities
include development of an integrated marketing plan including push and pull strategies, implementation of campaigns,
improvement of tools and processes, interaction with internal and external stakeholders. Under the supervision of, and in
close and permanent interaction with the Fundraising Director, in close collaboration with MSF UAE concerned staff:
Participate in the elaboration and implementation of the fundraising strategy with the Fundraising Director, in close
collaboration with the communication department. Plan, develop and implement a marketing plan to increase donor acquisition
and retention through pull and push strategies, web, events Propose and design e-marketing activities, including email-
campaigns with the webmaster, donations on-line, management of the web content Assist the Fundraising Director in the
creation and implementation of tools for one-to-one donor strategies. Ensure the collection, consolidation and reporting of
market and donor data. Manage budgets and contracts with direct marketing service providers, negotiate barter agreements.
Assess volume fundraising potential and local market maturity for marketing activities.
Required Skills / Selection Criteria:
University Degree with business and/or marketing management major Fluency in English;
Arabic, French are advantages. Minimum of 5 years experience in B2C direct marketing and campaigns, proven experience in
direct mailings, e-marketing and customer relationship management. Extensive knowledge of the UAE direct marketing and
advertising sector. Excellent copywriting (English- Arabic is a plus). Organizational skills, ability to work and develop
projects autonomously. Skills in project management Good communicator and facilitator. Ability to compile concise, clear
presentations. High proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Applications. Strong knowledge and interest in internet and
new media marketing strategies. Knowledge of Graphic design software (In-Design/Photoshop/Adobe Illustrator) is an advantage.
