Job Description:
Our client, a global mobile telecommunications organization is looking for an IP Networks Service Engineer to join their expanding team in Bahrain. The ideal candidate has to provide technical service in both Packet Core and Mobile Packet Backbone areas to new and existing customer networks.
Job Responsibilities:
• Ability to adhere to established timelines and/or customer requested timing in response to customer inquiries.
• Plan, integrate, troubleshoot and resolve problems in order to stabilize and optimize customer networks.
• Implement and activate new features as well as change upgrade or replace hardware or software of IP Networks.
• Ensure PCN & PBN equipments are fully tested, including required functions and features are ready for traffic.
• Produce documentation such as list of test cases, test instruction, Method of Procedure (MOP), test progress and report.
• Conduct IP Networks demonstration and acceptance as required as well as interoperability test/verification of IP Networks.
Qualification Requirements:
• Minimum five years relevant experience of specifically working in a telecommunications company in the GCC.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Competent in IP Switching area - Ethernet, VLANs and trunking, Spanning Tree, VRRP, Link Aggregation and multilayer switches.
• Good knowledge of IP Network Engineering and Network Performance, IP routing and networking protocols, Switches and Routers, as well as BGP, OSPF and MPLS. Familiarity with transport protocols such as UDP, TCP and SCTP and some WAN experience is essential.
• Basic configuration of APN: Internet WAP MMS GPRS national and international roaming configurations, SS7 network, GPRS call flow as well as the SGSN, GGSN, SASN link configuration & integration.
• Must be willing to travel within RMEA if required by project and work in different cultural environments.
