Job description
Study customers enquiry documents to identify specifications and requirements Quantify the required materials from the drawings or MTO and issue enquiry to Procurement Department (internal dept.) if materials are non-standard items Evaluate the fabrication labour man-hours Calculate the cost of treatment required in accordance with the project specifications and the type of construction Issue enquiries for pricing of sub-contracting requirements Analyse the number and cost of various pieces of equipment for site requirement. Input data/information into system and ascertain total cost Compile a summary of the project indicating all details of the offer and any exclusions to enable Sales Dept. to prepare quotations for the customer
Qualifications
Diploma in Mechanical engineering. Min.5 years experience in the occupation in similar industrial environment with specific focus in the estimation for Power transmission and telecommunication towers and lighting poles Fully conversant with international codes and specifications for materials Good exposure to engineering design especially for Power transmission and telecommunication towers and lighting poles, and steel fabrication Arithmetic / numeric skill Basic skill in English, and proficiency in computer
