Job Description Position Objective: • Provide overall risk management oversight for clients and products. • Highlight issues affecting the franchise to senior management by sharing of appropriate information among the risk professionals. • Achieve predictable portfolio performance in term of credit losses by appropriate credit origination, credit monitoring and portfolio diversification. • Optimization of risk resources and inculcate a culture of risk differentiation. • Partner with business heads to achieve the approved business plans. • Manage and develop the risk management staff within the organization. Principal Responsibilities: • To approve transactions as the principal Risk Management representative • To ensure that potential credit problems are identified early, classified promptly and managed proactively. • To ensure the business remains fully compliant with THE COMPANY’s risk policies and procedures. • To ensure the business remains fully compliant with Central Bank regulations and other regulatory requirements. • To get involved in transaction structuring as a member of all deal teams support / lead the due diligence efforts on major transactions. • To ensure that the relevant product and credit programs are current and updated and portfolio remains within the approved risk appetite of the business. • To ensure that the frequency and quality of credit calling, site visits and market checking are in line with the required standards. • To upgrade / alter all policy/processes as necessary in close coordination with Group CRO. • To ensure full adherence to the bank’s documentation standards and policies. • To continuously strive to improve the risk management process within the business to make the function more efficient and more responsive to customer needs. • To recruit, train and develop quality staff for the risk management positions. • To participate in developing appropriate training programs for credit analysts and relationship managers.
 
Desired Candidate's Profile
 
Profile Experience: • Extensive credit risk experience (10 Yrs +) • Highly numerical and detail oriented • Knowledge of all banking products • Process management skills to ensure an effective and efficient credit process. • Experience of working in a developing market • Knowledge of most business sectors • Knowledge of Islamic / Sharia complaint banking products / practices. Personal: • Strong support of risk training and development • Able to align risk organization to support business objectives • Able to identify, hire, retain, coach & motivate top risk talent • Team player - able to work within and promote cross-functional environment. • Multi-tasker and willing to ‘roll up his sleeves and get involved’ • Ability to work in a multicultural environment. • Patience. • Sense of humor.
