Job Title : Systems Integration Specialist ( Omani Nationals Only)

Department :Information Technology

Reporting to: Head - Applications Management & Support

Main Role (Overall Accountability)

  • Responsibilities will include performing middleware application configuration and administration, liaison work with application management teams to ensure best practices and liaison work with Bank’s Information Technology groups to ensure OS and hardware availability. Project work and analysis will include implementation of best practices across Windows, Unix and IBM AIX environments supporting a number of proprietary and commercial middleware applications.
  • Develops technical strategies and architectures for systems or enterprise-wide practice solutions. Develops and recommends solutions and strategies for technical solutions based on the analysis of organization’s business goals, objectives, needs and existing systems infrastructure.
  • Perform or coordinate all required monitoring activity for the supported networks and systems, including operation of utilities to support customer system and data implementations. Responsible for maintenance and emergency response outside of normal business hours as necessary to maintain general network health and/or upgrades.
  • Maintain ownership of product support incidents and follow proper escalation processes to meet or exceed target resolution timeframes. Responsible for involving resources outside of Operations when necessary to resolve incidents (engineering, IT, etc.).
  • Collect and analyze system usage statistics and engage in capacity planning required to manage the supported systems to accommodate growth and to support ongoing engineering initiatives.
  • Implement and manage security processes (both technical and procedural) to ensure uninterrupted operations and to comply with Bank and data privacy policies.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Planning, coordinating and overseeing activities related to integration of software programs and applications into the organization's information systems;
  • Responsible for ensuring that the technical architecture is followed and that services necessary to meet the changing needs of the organization are implemented and maintained. The position has overall responsibility for the “blueprint” or technology architecture that drives the other services;
  • Responsible for integrating the organization’s applications, which are typically multi-tier applications that rely upon web and relational database technologies;
  • Liaison between the infrastructure and the applications groups, aiding one to understand the other and to provide a vehicle through which the developers and network engineers can effectively communicate.

Qualifications & Training :

  • Requires bachelor/Master degree in computer or engineering.  Relevant professional certifications desirable;
  • Formal training in industry renewed middleware applications and service management disciplines (e.g. TIBCO, IBM Web sphere, Oracle Fusion etc)

Technical Skills, KPI’s & Experience : 

  • Significant development experience, in a role that requires system integration a mission critical environment. Aware of industry and professional standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO8583, FIX, SWIFT) and implemented or having hands-on experience on TIBCO, IBM, Oracle Fusion.

  • Expert knowledge of Middleware / Enterprise Service Business
  • Hands-on working experience of any ESB such as IBM Broker, IBM WAS, MQ series /  TIBCO / Software AG / Fusion
  • Expert knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Hands-on working experience of Business Process Management (BPM)
  • Hands-on working experience on message protocols including ISO 8583 / APACS 30, 40 / FIX etc.
  • Development experience on programming languages such as C++ / Java / J2EE
