Main Objectives: Ensure that all technical and engineering activities associated with engines and APUs of Oman Air fleet are maintained and carried out according to the standards required by the relevant support agreements, the manufacturers recommendations, the requirements contained within the approved Aircraft Maintenance Programs, the responsible national authorities and in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Main Duties: Ensure technical support to the day-to-day operation of the propulsion systems and effective oversight of all engine trend/condition monitoring data and evaluate technical recommendations to upgrades and modifications in order to achieve a higher standard of operational reliability. Ensure 24 hours and out of hours Power plant technical support coverage to the Oman Air operation in relation to all engine shop visits, overhaul, repairs and testing Refine existing maintenance cost models and initiate development of new cost models where none exist in order to reduce repair and maintenance costs. Investigate engine related incidents, accidents and maintenance defect reports and ensure remedial action is taken, in liaison with QA department. Exercise effective management of staff in terms of training, motivating, evaluating and developing in order to achieve an efficient and capable team. Qualifications and Experience: Degree level in aeronautical engineering (or equivalent) and/or holder of appropriate ICAO Annex 1 aircraft licenses with at least 10 years of experience. Minimum 10 years airline maintenance experience of which 5 years should have been dedicated to the field of propulsion engineering. 3 years experience working with CFM56 engines and RR Trent 700 engines. Thorough knowledge of latest technical developments and industry trends.
