The Post 

• Calibrates, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots a wide range of process instruments and control systems, replaces worn, damaged or failed equipment and components to support plant operations. 

• Conducts any required inspections/post maintenance testing of systems, Equipment and components as necessary to ensure systems, equipment and components are returned to operational conditions. 

• Performs preventive maintenance on instruments and control systems and is involved in the installation and removal of piping, circuits and associated instrumentation and equipment supporting plant modifications 

• Using the computerized maintenance system to order spare parts from the warehouse and maintain the records of all maintenance work completed: Monitors repeated breakdowns and takes proper modification; Provides on-job training to new craftsmen in order to gain necessary skills. 

• Checks and modifies PLC programs. 
 

The Person 

• Diploma or Degree in Industrial instrumentation and/or Electronic Engineering including computer-related subjects or an equivalent qualification.

• 5 years experience in a similar position. 

• Candidate should have an excellent General Industrial Control and Instrumentation Engineering background with working experience on some of the following: PLC: Allen-Bradley ControILogix/PLC5/SLC500, Siemens S5. SCADA/HMI: RSView, PanelView, and Networking techniques. Controllers: Analogue and Digital Programmable, Rosemount, E&H, Moore Mycro, Hartmann and Braun, Eurotherm, ABB Kent. Mass Flow meters, Weighers: Weightronics, Avery Electronic Load Cell System, integrated Belt Weighing, Programmable Weighers, Schenck Weighing Systems Analyzers: X-ray Fluorescence/Diffraction Analyzers, Spectrometry Gas Analysis, Chromatography, and all Analyzers relative to Industrial Water Treatment using computer-based systems. 

• In addition, they should have a good working knowledge on Microsoft Windows '98, Windows 2000, or 'Windows NT Knowledge of C++/Visual Basic will be an added advantage. Candidates should also be aware of software engineering techniques • Knowledge of SAP system is an added advantage.
