Job description
1) Analyze and document data storage requirements and design database schematics as per business and application requirements.
2) Apply industry standards database design techniques and normalization levels in order to ensure optimum operations of systems with respect to storage optimization, cost per transaction and response time.
3) Define and create database objects based on approved designs
4) Develop database administration scripts and / or utilize database administration tools for creating tables, indexes, synonyms and other database objects.
5) Develop, coordinate, and implement disaster and emergency recovery procedures for information systems and database environments.
6) Grant and revoke access rights to database objects and ensure that data is accessed by authorized users only at the database level.
Qualifications
• Graduation degree with major coursework in Computer Systems, Software Engineering or Information Technology Management.
• Masters or post graduate degree in IT. (Preferred but not compulsory).
• Expert knowledge of database management software such as SQL, Oracle DBMS, QUEST Central, Sybase Replication Server, etc.
