Position Summary: Management and surgical treatment of diseases of the heart, pericarduim,lungs, and chest. Examine patients and assess investigations to see whether patients require surgical treatment and perform any necessary surgery. Management of post-operative patients and further follow up. Research: Extensive Research period for the last 2 years proceeding to a thesis with a degree of MS/MD. Oral presentations to learn medical societies, and publications of articles in respected international journals. Experience: Extensive skill, knowledge, and experience are needed for these occupations. Many require more than seven to ten years of experience Required certification/licensure/registration: Residency training or board certification in surgery, followed by a period of specialist training in Cardiothoracic surgery.
