• Around 15 years experience working in a design consultancy at a supervisory or senior design level – some experience of working within a contractor environment is additionally welcome.
• Experience of working on major projects.
• Experience of electrical design software – Amtech, Dialux, Relux or Hevacomp.
• Experience of local utilities rules, regulations and design guides.
• Understanding of British, American and International design standards.
• Understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles and systems is essential.
• Good level of computer literacy in MS Office – an understanding of AutoCAD is essential.
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential.
• Ability to manage the workload of a team of more junior engineers.
Desirable
Electrical Engineering or Electrical and instrumentation engineering qualification preferred.

Responsibilities
=>Staff-management.
=> Electrical building services engineering design, from concept design through to construction issue and post contract site support.
=> Carrying out design calculations on a variety of buildings i.e. residential, commercial, educational, leisure facilities, industrial etc.
=> Design according to local utilities rules, regulations and design guides and obtain necessary statutory approvals.
=> Preparing technical specifications.
=> Preparing drawings for drafting by in-house CAD team.
=>Instruct CAD operators in all project related matters and responsible for the checking of all CAD works done.
=> Coordinate with Architects, Structural Engineers and Mechanical Engineers and any other external design consultant.
=> Coordinate with, instruct and supervise Electrical Engineers and AutoCAD Technicians.
=>To understand and implement our clients ME Quality Assurance procedures and advise Engineers/Technicians.
=>Representing our clients at meetings with clients and contractors.
