Job description
I. Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry by performing the following duties.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
a. Assembles and tests experimental motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components.
b. Modifies electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations under direction of Electrical Engineer.
c. Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.
Qualifications
I. Technical Skills - Assesses own strengths and weaknesses; Shares expertise with others.
II. Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information effectively and responds to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
III. Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of Plane and Solid Geometry and Trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
IV. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
