Job Description :
As discussed, there is an immediate requirement of an Inventory Controller at Alwafa UAE. Reporting to the Finance Manager, is responsible to maintain an accurate and proper inventory of all products in all the stores as well as the warehouse. The Inventory Controller has to give maximum feedback to the management and instructions to the respective store managers in order to minimize the possible stock loss.
Main Duties:
· Develop the company’s inventory management strategy with the aim
of controlling costs within budgetary limits, generating savings,
rationalising inventory and maximizing available working capital
· Manage and maintain the company’s stocks and also ensure that leakages are avoided to the maximum.
· Manage and control perpetual inventory stock counting / inventory
accuracy checks
· Ensure that goods inward from the suppliers and from the warehouse to the stores are proper and also ensure that all other inward and outward stock movements are receipted and managed appropriately
· Minimis e overstocks and ensure removal of damaged and expired goods at appropriate intervals
· Minimise negative stocks at stores as well to ensure that there are no Out of stock situation at the stores and warehouse
· Ensure that any materials that are late or holding up for whatever reason from the suppliers or from the Warehouse are chased and followed up until received.
· Ensure that absolute control is maintained in the stock transfers from warehouse to stores as well as on inter store transfers
· Provide routine management information on inventory performance
· Reduce stock ageing at the warehouse and the stores coordinating with the central buyers
· Monitor and evaluate shop consumables usage & costs
· Monitor & evaluate material scrapping at stores and Warehouse
· Produce routine reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system
are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved
· Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and
discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved.
· Ensure that the receivers at stores and warehouse are following proper processes as defined
Operational Performance
· Achieve a minimum of 95% inventory record accuracy
Person Specification
· Ideally possessing a relevant professional qualification and/or suitable
background experience in inventory management & logistics control
· Have a detailed understanding of MRP and inventory control / management
systems and ERP.
· Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative
and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to
detail and quality.
· Possess the willingness to learn, improve and adapt.
· Experience in Retail environment is preferred, though not an absolute criteria.
· Possess commanding personality and aged above 30 years
IT Skills
· Possess relevant IT skills in basic MS Office applications - outlook, excel &
word in particular and a working knowledge of ERP systems preferably SAP
