Qatar Foundation is an established organization, with a variety of Centres, programs and plans for expansion, our process began with designing/reworking the mission statement of the Foundation and the Centres and then looking at the broader issues of vision.
Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development is a private, chartered, non-profit organization headquartered in Doha, Qatar. The Foundation hosts branch campuses of Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts, Weill Cornell Medical College, Texas A & M University, Carnegie Mellon University and Georgetown University. It is also home to Qatar Academy, the Learning Center, the Academic Bridge Program, the Rand-Qatar Policy Institute, Al-Shaqab Stud and Riding Academy, Fitch Qatar and Qatar Science and Technology Park. Qatar Foundation’s other projects include the Qatar Diabetes Association and the Social Development Center.
Responsibilities
1) Supervises all activities of assigned personnel at the Central Plant. Carries-out supervisor duties and exercises financial authority at the level established by management for the position.
2) Supervises the safe and efficient start-up, running and shutdown of all equipment and machineries such as power generators, chillers, chilled water circulation pumps, cooling water towers, fire water pumps, irrigation pumps, drainage water pumps, air compressors. Ensures that the equipment and machineries preparation, start-up and shutdown procedures are strictly followed and safely implemented. Monitors and controls the PLC incorporated systems.
3) Supervises all types of contractors and technicians in the regular checking and recording of various flows, levels, pressures, and temperatures to ensure that they are
within the specified operating limits and conditions. Reviews abnormal readings and takes corrective action to ensure that safe and smooth running condition of the plant and equipments are maintained. Drafts work requests and work permits to deal with
unresolved problems and discusses the priority of such work with the Chief Engineer, taking into account their effect on the safety operations of the Central Plant process.
Requirements
At least 10 years of varied maintenance and operational experience in refinery plants or oil/gas stations or similar facilities with exposure to large HVAC installations. The incumbent should have a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience. An aptitude and exposure to Programmable Logic Controls is desirable. Completion of Secondary (12 years) education followed by 4 years degree in Electrical, Instrumentation OR Mechanical Engineering is a requirement. Good knowledge of English, (both written and understanding technical manuals) is essential. He must be very familiar with the use of the computer and its applications.
