BRITISH EMBASSY BAHRAIN REQUIRES PRESS AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICER

The Person:

A proactive individual with an interest in current affairs. Previous experience of working with local media would be an advantage.

You are a native Arabic speaker with excellent spoken and written English who can quickly
r and present information.

You have good communication, networking and interpersonal skills and are experienced in the use of most Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and PowerPoint.

 
The Role:

 • Monitoring the local media, especially Arabic press Preparing a daily press summary of main issues, with analysis as required.

Provide translations of interesting news articles for all sections of the Embassy

• To build and maintain relations with useful contacts in the press, primarily the Arabic Press

• To provide translation services for all sections of the Embassy

• To answer general enquiries from members of the public and provide information about the UK as requested

• To assist with visits and Embassy Events

• Assist the Political Officer in project and scholarship activities
