Applications are invited for the post of Procurement Manager
Responsibilities:
- Analysis of current processes to develop and then implement short & long-term procurement strategies designed to reduce costs and improve quality and service.
- Review sourcing of local products/services with a view to better identifying internal customer requirements and significantly improving the delivery of products & services.
- Conduct RFI’s, RFP’s and RFQ’s in a professional and timely manner.
- Implement internal & external feedback procedures to measure effectiveness of operations, including customer satisfaction, and propose methods for continuous improvement.
- Establish and maintain vendor databases and initiate/maintain partnerships with external vendors to achieve cost savings through better vendor selection, favourable contract agreements and improved delivery and billing processes.
- Anticipate company needs and requirements by keeping abreast of market & product trends and developments – continually analyse pricing to ensure competitiveness.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years in regional/local roles as Procurement Manager or Procurement Head.
- Previous experience within the Middle East is ESSENTIAL and Shipping related experience preferred.
- Experience of developing & implementing purchasing systems and processes for procurement of a broad range of materials including construction, FFV (Fresh Fruits & Vegetables), and other domestic/commercial supplies (electrical, mechanical, office related, technical repairs related etc)
- Good knowledge of UAE markets and various vendor sources.
- Civil Engineer/Construction Engineer with past procurement experience will be preferable.
- Any experience on Procurement ERP systems will be a distinct advantage
