Job description
- This dynamic position requires an experienced individual to work with a team of network engineers in the design, development and implementation of Qatar Petroleum's Cisco based infrastructure projects ranging from wired Layer 1, 2 and 3 to wireless.
- The successful candidate will also play an integral role in maintaining and supporting QP remote sites where infrastructure solutions have been deployed.
Qualifications
- A minimum of BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,Telecommunication Engineering or related discipline.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- Holder of Cisco SDH/DWDM, CCNP, and/or CCIE certifications will be given strong preference.
- Strong analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- A minimum of ten years overall IT experience with commercial or business organization
- with at least five years of direct design, implementation and operation of SDH/DWDM Metropolitan Area Network projects.
- Extensive working knowledge of telecommunication networks, SDH networks structure, and advanced routing and switching technologies.
- Thorough understanding and hands-on experience with structured cabling infrastructure designs and solutions in data center environments and remote sites.
- Strong knowledge and experience in supporting Cisco wired and wireless network devices and components using LAN and optical network management systems.
- Extensive knowledge of high availability network technologies and solutions to support IP convergence requirements.
- General good understanding and knowledge in data communication systems such as servers and storage.
