Job description
Implement strong relations with selected vendors for systems software, application, and hardware delivery and maintenance.
Build and maintain strong and effective relationship with all other related departments and units to achieve the Group’s goals/ objectives.
Ensure timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors and the Compliance function as and when required.
Work with the team to ensure 24 hours availability for Distributed Systems. On-call support rotation will be required.
Maintain knowledge on Distributed Systems intricacies, applications and controls, and impart the same to the team.
Assist in the administration and monitoring of Distributed Systems.
Research problems, resolve issues, provide root cause analysis and documents findings; recommend process improvements from the same.
Responsible for restoring failed production servers through the disaster recovery process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.
- Minimum 8 years experience in financial services with a specialization in systems technical design, implementation and maintenance of main server systems relevant to the distributed environment (i.e. Base 24, Prime).
- Training courses and certification in operating systems, security and applications support
- The systems support environment provides the platform to run systems using main servers’ hardware, and operating systems to provide secure, convenient, and highly available systems for users across the Group. In addition to securing such an environment, each administrator is assigned a system or group of systems depending on experience, training, and need.
- It involves responsiveness to 24 hour based support and user calls via a help desk concept.
- High security access is required to execute systems procedures and security controls.
- The referenced position will be based in Qatar and will involve liaison with the support functions at HO.
