Ma'aden was formed as a Saudi joint stock company on 23 March 1997 (corresponding to 14/11/1417H) for the purpose of facilitating the development of Saudi Arabia’s mineral resources. To date Ma'aden's activities have focused on its active gold business which has grown in recent years to include the operation of five gold mines: Mahd Ad Dahab, Al Hajar, Sukhaybarat, Bulghah, and Al Amar. Ma'aden is now expanding its activities beyond its gold business with the development of its Phosphate Project, Aluminium Project, and Other Projects. In addition, since its formation, Ma'aden (through the Ministry of Petroleum & Mineral Resources) has collaborated with the Government and local legislators to develop a regulatory framework for the governance of the mining industry in Saudi Arabia. Ma'aden’s gold business is operated through its gold division which explores for precious and base metals within Saudi Arabia. It currently operates five gold mines in Saudi Arabia: Mahd Ad Dahab, Al Hajar, Sukhaybarat, Bulghah, and Al Amar. Ma'aden is also developing one more mining property in Ad Duwayhi and has five advanced exploration projects.

Job Description
Direct, Plan and coordinate the activities of MA'ADEN aluminium, SBU and PM&E within the policies of MA'ADEN Mining, Refinery and Smelter to maximise operational effectiveness in these sectors. Leads Aluminium in achieving its mission and vision within the guidelines set by MA'ADEN. Have overall responsibility of the direction, management and control and delivery of the Ma'aden Aluminium Project. Leads the activities of Business Development to maximize opportunities and focus on sustainable growth in profits with (M & A) Mergers and Acquisitions. This is accomplished by implementing corporate strategy and envisages new capital project ideas through the early stages of the stage gate including feasibility. Ensures optimal management of the capital projects with the other SBU's and assists in identifying and evaluating M & A transactions through to the approval and handover to the projects for execution. Direct the operations and execution and constructing of the aluminium company accordsing to the set schedule, quality standards and cost set by the Company's Board of Directors in light of their approved strategic objectives.
Desired Candidate's Profile
Profile Candidate should have a degree in Mining Engineering or Geology. Advanced degree in Business Management would be an added asset. 15+ years of experience in Project Management or Oprational experience in a mine processing business/ planning ideally in the Aluminium sector, including some industrial management experience. Proven track record of leading a large business unit or developing new businesses, ideally in mining organization. SKILLS: - English a requisite - Fluency in Arabic an asset - A proven track record in management of large and complex projects including start-ups - Solid performance in management positions in large manufacturing and/or production plants. - Experience in working in culturally challenging environments - aluminium experience is highly preferable or, alternatively, experience in Magnesium or other primary metal smelting environments. - Good leadership and commercial acumen, excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to demonstrate strategic and innovative thinking - Proficient in decision making with the appropriate level of research and consultation. - Exceptionaly strong in integrating skills of multiple functions and people to deliver best results.
